Back in April 2014, an indie dance pop outfit formed by the name of Pleasure House. The Birmingham quartet take up-tempo rhythms, catchy vocals and pop sensibilities into a crisp, polished sound that belies their years.
Sunrise offered a taste of Pleasure House’s sound by way of a single earlier in the year, delivering on its promise of catchy riffs and vocal hooks for ‘the happy people, the stay-up-laters, and the last sunset of the summer’ with a melodic sunkissed tune managing to tap into some island and beach vibes.
The band’s latest offering, Like a Drug is a punchier fun-fuelled pop number with intricate rhythms melding with vocals for another catchy number.
If Pleasure House is, as they claim, striving to make the world a better place by playing deliciously dirty indie dance pop, it’s probably safe to say these tunes are a step in the right direction.
