Israeli musician Amit Buium released a debut album earlier in 2016. With the help of a couple of friends, the sound takes on all things ambient, electronic and pop with an ethereal overtone. The eclectic mix is so surprise, given a host of influences ranging across Cocteau Twins, The Cure, Sigur Ros, Talk Talk, Grimes, Chvrches, Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine and Kanye West to name just a few.
Embracing its namesake early on, Void opens with sparse resonate sounds and goes on a lengthy journey into space travel and atmospheric vibes. Abstract tones in Landscapes resolve into an ethereal lull before a burst of layered sound clashes through. Despite its gloomier vibe, Rain is a little gem with its poetic words but they tend to be washed away with all the sound before the clarity of Cheated embraces all things electro and synth in two parts of light and shade.
