Without losing a beat, The Kendricks have swiftly moved from releasing Threshing Time as a single from their debut release, to releasing a new EP called Fire At Sea. While this is The Kendricks’ second EP, it’s more of a continuation of the first given it was recorded at the same time and continues exploring those age old themes of love, loss, hope and rebirth.
The Claim delivers a soaring rock melody sitting behind words of journey and pursuit before Man On A Wire hones in on the band’s talents in making uptempo pop rock with catchy hooks. Fire At Sea is a bit of a theatrical feat with its sweeping sounds but in winding down with So It Goes there’s a fond farewell set against intricate detail and huge vocals to accompany brash choruses, before rocking out for a few fleeting moments.
