It wasn’t too long ago that Grateful Lullabies of Redemption released a debut EP called PerspƎctivE. Based in Cheshire UK, the solo project sets out “to create intriguing music which is persistently original, without stumbling into the impossibly abstract; and which is engaging, visceral and interesting.”
It’s a compilation of styles and genres, where each track offers something a little different and provoking without sticking to any prescriptive formula or expectation. The opening track, Lullaby of Redemption isn’t made up of sounds to fall asleep to, instead it’s chaotic rock driven with clashing vocals and arrangements, fraught with disorder that’s probably more likely to resemble a wrestle with insomnia. Luminosity is also a solid listen, taking its cues from classic rock sounds and moving between frenetic noise and melodic breakdowns layered with instrumentation.
