Listening to… Trees and Queens

Trees and Queens

Trees and Queens sound like a mighty outfit, crafting their melodious alt rock tunes loaded with abundant drums and their fuzz-drenched guitars. But this huge sound comes from only two, one guy and one girl making it their mission to make lots of noise, complete with classic punk ethos and passion delivering intense live performances.

The band recently announced plans to start recording an album, so it seems a fitting time to check out the band’s EP as a possible sign of things to come. Wooden Fiction released last year brings lots of heavy noise into listening eardrums early on in the rowdy Helmet At My Feet, before combining those colossal sounds with microscopic words on Earth upon Earth. Sound-wise, Strong, As Paper packs a punch, but the intensity is ramped up for Black Wood Door offering a haunting, moody incarnation.
