This Human Error was released a little while back, courtesy of Foreign Skies hailing from Glasgow. Past bands and other projects aside, a shared friend and a jam brought the three piece together, creating post rock influenced tunes.
In the vein of instrumental post-rock outfits (think sleepmakeswaves, Maybeshewill, etc) a somewhat melancholic opening comes in Swells with vast, melodramatic and passionate sounds making lyrics obsolete.
But in contrast, a more considered sound becomes apparent from the outset of These Hills, taking on a sense of presence and transience with something a little heavier in Piste (and the source of the EP’s title) before the epic finale in Go Forth and Destroy.
There are hints of influences scattered throughout – Frightened Rabbit, Biffy Clyro and This Will Destroy You to scrape the surface. But the less obvious nuances might be attributed to a wider array of listening, a more collaborative and spontaneous writing process alongside working with producer Paul McInally.
